Blasting & Explosive Use – Reviews safety procedures and regulatory requirements.  Review of roles and
responsibilities of personnel involved.
Concrete and Masonry – Reviews performance requirements for construction workers and
hazards associated with concrete and masonry operations.

Confined Space Entry – Awareness –Reviews the requirements needed for conducting
work within confined spaces.  Evaluates confined space entry procedures, specific
responsibilities, permits, training requirements, equipment utilized and overview of typical
hazards associated with confined space entry.

Entrant & Supervisor.
Confined Space Rescue – Reviews the requirements of emergency planning, response, and evaluates the
preparation and entry / non-entry techniques of a rescue team.  
Demolition – Reviews the requirements and hazards associated with demolition.  Reviews
the different types of structures and safe practices.

Electrical Safety – Reviews OSHA requirements, grounding procedures, resistance,
amperage and testing.

Emergency Escape and Action – Review and identification of actions and responsibilities
in the even of sever weather, major unforeseen occurrences, fires, and fatalities or severe
injuries.
Excavation / Trenching – Awareness – Reviews the requirement and hazards associated
with working in excavations/trenches.

Excavation / Trenching – Competent Person – Detailed review of the requirements of
working in excavations / trenches, inspections criteria, soil classification, hazard
assessment and prevention, proper protection for employees (sloping, benching, shoring or
engineering).
Fall Protection Awareness – Review of the specific standards, use and inspection of
equipment, identification of need, establishing protective systems and review variety of
systems available.

Fall Protection Competent Person – Detailed review of the responsibilities of a competent
person regarding the use of various types of PPE, engineering controls, inspections,
systems and documentation.
Hazard Communication – Reviews labeling requirements, Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) terminology
and requirements, chemical inventory and storage requirements, and training.
Hazardous Waste Operations – Identifies the difference between a work area spill
response and a hazardous waste operations spill response and the initial response
actions when a spill occurs.  List the methods used to identify a hazardous material and the
associated hazards.  Identifies the key factors necessary to the selection of personal
protective equipment and type of PPE available for spill clean up and when they should be
used.  Demonstrate techniques available to contain, control and clean up spills at the
company.  Explain decontamination required for work area spills and describe the
appropriate procedure for handling hazardous waste generated during a spill clean up.  
Identify the appropriate contacts for reporting spills.
Hazardous Waste Operations Refresher – Reviews containment, decontamination, hazard awareness,
incident command system, medical surveillance, personal protective equipment, regulations, respiratory
protection, site control and toxicology.  This course is from consultants, contractors, managers, supervisors and
technicians who have completed 24 or 40-hour HAZWOPER courses.
Heat Stress – Identifies situations that lead to heat stress, review signs and symptoms
and first-aid for heat related illnesses.

Hoisting and Rigging – Review requirements on how to inspect, store and label rigging
equipment and basic rigging techniques.

Hot Work / Fire Watch – Review requirements established by OSHA for work involving:
welding, cutting, burning and grinding.  Hot Work, Welding permit and Fire Watch
requirements and responsibilities.
Lock Out / Tag Out – Review of applicable OSHA standards, and procedures.  Identify
specific requirements for different types of energy.

Personal Protective Equipment – Review information and requirements regarding basic
hand, face, eye, head, foot, ear and body protection.

Respiratory Protection – Review of the applicable OSHA standards, medical authorization,
record-keeping requirements, monitoring, and respiratory protective equipment selection
and maintenance.
Scaffolding – Reviews OSHA regulations, scaffolding hazards, correct procedures for
erecting, maintaining and disassembly of scaffolding, design criteria maximum intended
load capacity and intended use.

Signs, Signals and Barricades – Identifies the proper use and application of different signs,
signals and barricades.   

Sling Safety – Review proper use, inspection procedures and maintenance for slings.
Steel Erection – Reviews general and specific requirements for the steel erection industry.

Traffic Control
– Reviews the basic theory and practical skills that are required to become a qualified traffic
control person.

Underground Construction – Review of health and safety hazards pertaining to working on underground
construction.
Walking and Working Surfaces – Reviews the general requirements, and hazards
associated with walking and working surfaces.

Welding and Cutting – Review standard operating procedures and safety requirements
involving welding and cutting activities.  Review of welding and cutting equipment and
hazards associated with them.
