Heavy Equipment Training
K and R Safety can provide training for a variety of heavy equipment.   All training can be
provided at your facility, your jobsite or your personnel can attend classes at designated
locations. Our training has been established by utilizing  the ANSI guidelines, EMI guidelines,
OSHA standards and manufacturers recommendations for defining heavy equipment training,

All operator training include classroom with test and hands on operations.  Operators skills
will be evaluated and immediate correction if warranted is provided.  Each participant will be
provided with a safety manual for the type of equipment being used.  An evaluation sheet and
completion certificate will be issued to all participants who successfully complete the course.

Forklifts
These courses are established to provide forklift operators the opportunity to comprehend,
utilize and implement safe and appropriate forklift operations.  Forklift Operator courses covers
forklift operator topics such as pre-work inspections, steering, load handling, working around
pedestrians, hazardous floor surfaces, emergency stopping and forklift securing.  Each course
is defined by the equipment that is to be utilized.  Due to the large variety of forklift equipment,
from basic electric and LP gas-powered units, Rough Terrain Forklifts, to order pickers and
pallet trucks all equipment cannot be covered in a single class focus of the training will be
placed on the equipment you utilize.  Several classes are available including Novice (new
operators), experienced but need certification, and refresher classes.   
Cranes
These courses educate operators on typical hazards associated with crane operations, liability,
signaling, proper maintenance, including cleaning, pre-use inspection, operational checklist,
awareness of abnormal function, weather conditions, load handling, load capacities, crane
certifications, rigging and refueling precautions.  Critical lifts, electrical line hazards and
emergencies will also be addressed during. Several classes are available including Novice
(new operators), experienced but need certification, and refresher classes.

Aerial lifts
These courses provide detailed training on boom supported, scissor or articulating aerial lift
type devices, with emphasis on operator and employee safety.  Equipment stability, controls,
operations, inspections and maintenance will be reviewed.  Several classes are available
including Novice (new operators), experienced but need certification, and refresher classes.

Backhoe, Loaders and Skid Steers
These courses provide training on practical operations, equipment stability, controls,
operations, inspections and maintenance will be reviewed.  Emphasis on soil conditions,
environmental hazards and safe operations in congested work areas.  Several classes are
available including Novice (new operators), experienced but need certification, and refresher
classes.
