Training is the cornerstone of verifying employees have been informed of the requirements that have
been established by a company and can also be used to verify that an employer has conducted due
diligence in ensuring the employees safety.

We understand that training cannot always be held in a classroom setting.  Therefore, we have
developed programs that can be conducted in the field and strived to accomodate you with computer
based training online.

Accident Reporting & Investigation - Reviews the reasons and methods behind appropriate
incident reporting and investigation, reviews methods to identify false claims, and reviews
information needed to contest or validate a claim.  Reviews methods to identify trends in incident
occurrence.

Blood-Borne Pathogens - Identifies safe procedures for application of first-aid.  Reviews
hazards associated with blood-borne pathogens (hepatitis, HIV, etc.), proper PPE use and
federal and state standards regarding BB-P.

Confined Space Entry (Awareness) - Reviews the requirements needed for conducting work
within confined spaces.  Review confined space entry procedures, specific responsibilities,
permits, training requirements, equipment utilized and overview of typical hazards associated with
confined space entry.  **Additional training available for Attendant, Entrant & Supervisor**.

Critical Incident Investigation -  Identify why investigations are so important, how to asses
and record a scene, to conduct an interview, to document findings and identify the appropriate

Defensive Driving  - Review of proper driving procedures, pre-inspections, and safety
equipment.  Reviews actions and methods to take in the event of various emergencies.

Emergency Escape and Actions - Review and identification of actions and responsibilities in
the event of severe weather, major unforeseen occurrences, fires, fatalities, or severe injuries.

Employee Introduction - An overview of the company's safety program, individual
responsibilities and OSHA Standards.

Excavation (Awareness) - Reviews the requirements and hazards associated with working in
excavations.

Excavation (Competent Person) -  Detailed review of the requirements of working in
excavations, inspection criteria, soil classification, hazard assessment and prevention, proper
protection for employees (sloping, benching, shoring or engineering).

Fall Protection (Awareness) - Review of the specific standards, use and inspection of
equipment, identification of need, establishing protective systems and review variety of items
available.

Fall Protection (Competent Person) -  Detailed review of the responsibilities of a competent
person regarding the use of various types of PPE, engineering controls, inspections and
documentation.

First Aid / CPR - Identifies adult basic first-aid for injuries and illness, application of Cardio
Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).  Requires hands on operation and written test. (National Safety
Council)

Equipment Operators - Review of inspection requirements, safety equipment, safe operation,
operator qualification requirements and OSHA standard (Forklift, Backhoe, Skiploader, Crane,
Aerial lifts...)

Equipment Operator Refresher - Changes in the forklift/equipment operating standard /
interpretations or equipment that may impact use.

Hand / Power Tools - Review of the applicable standards, guards, equipment inspections and
training requirements.

Hazard Recognition - Tailored to personnel that conduct workplace inspections, review of
techniques to identify and correct typical hazards encountered and most common OSHA
violations.

Hazard Communication - Reviews labeling requirements, Material Safety Data Sheets
(MSDS) terminology and requirements, chemical inventory, storage requirements, and training.

Hearing Conversation - Review of the OSHA standards, audiograms, documentation
requirements and methods to identify locations that require PPE.

Heat Stress - Identifies situations that lead to heat stress, review signs / symptoms and first-aid
for heat stress.          

Hoisting and Rigging - Review methods on how to inspect, store and label rigging equipment
and basic rigging techniques and how to determine load capacities.

Hydrogen Sulfide (H2S) - Review of the hazards, health effects of exposure, preventive
measures as well as chemical properties.

Hot Work / Fire Watch - Review requirements established by OSHA for work involving
welding, cutting, burning and grinding, hot work and welding permit requirements and fire watch
requirements and responsibilities.

Lock Out / Tag Out - Review of applicable OSHA standards, review lock-out/tag out
procedures, and identify specific requirements for different types of energy.           

OSHA Inspections - Identifies the elements of an OSHA Inspection, when they occur, why
they occur, how they proceed, how to document the inspection, typical findings, employer rights
and how to handle a citation

OSHA 10 & 30 (Construction & General Industry) - Courses designed with you to apply to
your work.

Personal Protective Equipment - Review information and requirements regarding basic hand,
face, eye, head, foot, ear and body protection.  .

Respiratory Protection - Review of the applicable OSHA standards, medical authorization,
record-keeping requirements, monitoring, respiratory protective equipment selection and
maintenance.

Supervisor Responsibility and Liability - Identifies the responsibilities of personnel in a
supervisory position.  Identifies some of the areas that supervisory personnel can be held
personally liable.  Review criminal liability and civil liability processes and previous cases.  
Identifies methods that can be utilized to eliminate or minimize the risk for supervisory personnel
to be held liable.

NM Electrician Continuing Education – K and R Safety, LLC is approved to provide all of
the required continuing education hours for Journeymen Electricians.  (Contact us for specific
classes).
All training includes: sign in sheets, handouts, video usage, tests, certificates and training
description.  Attendance at training sessions does not constitute certification.  Some training
requires hands on operation.

Spanish training is available.

All of the training classes will be tailored to your individual company.
